Rinera Networks Nets $9 Million Series A

SAN MATEO, CA -- Rinera Networks announced the close of its first round of funding, bringing in $9 million in new investment.

Rinera is developing technology that allows network operators to optimize the throughput of high-bandwidth applications like video on demand.  The company's technology, Coordinated Video Distribution System, has not been unveiled yet.

Investors in the round included previous backers New Enterprise Associates and Foundation Capital.  Representatives of both firms have taken seats on the company's Board of Directors.
